Saturday 26th of November was a very special day. Visual Drums and the singers of Eufòria ―Estela, Pep Munta, Laura Gibert and Chung-man―, with the presence of the voice of Germán de la Riva and the guitar of Jaume Nin, performed at Sala Apolo in Barcelona. It was a great concert in capital letters: El Gran Concert.
It all came from the meeting between Neo M and the Eufòria contestants at the final gala of the most watched talent show in the history of TV3. Only a few months after filling the Palau Sant Jordi, the challenge was to give Eufòria fans a new experience with the special accompaniment of Visual Drums, where this new instrument of the future would empower the show giving a “Blade Runner” style texture. The success of the concert was the result of a combination of teamwork, talent and perseverance.
From special versions as the intro of the concert with “Nova Dimensió” by Minova and the spectacular “Viva la Vida” by Coldplay to moments of collective inspiration during “Elefants” by Oques Grasses, passing through super hits like “Alive” by Sia or classics like “Take on me” by A-ha, the audience could enjoy the new songs of the Eufòria singers and also musical improvisations with the visual drumset, which in each song dynamized the scene with different light animations.
There were also intimate moments with “All of me” by John Legend or “Barcelona s’il·lumina” accompanied by its composer Jaume Nin, and also the big explosive finale with “Volcans” by Búhos, which made the walls of Sala Apolo vibrate in synchrony with the audience. A night to remember, exceeded expectations and a very clear message: mission accomplished, and a landmark for all the things that may come.
The show must go on.
